What To Expect

Overview

The Black Maternal Health Convention during Black Maternal Health Week 2026 will take place on April 4, 2026, and this year we are centering the soul-her system of care. The Black maternal health crisis is not just medical, it is relational. Isolation increases stress, stress increases risk, and disconnection increases harm. Community care is life-saving infrastructure, and when we reconnect care and community, we restore what was always meant to protect us. During this convention, we will highlight how our doulas are bridging care and community by showing up and making a meaningful difference in the lives of families, while also sharing vital resources that strengthen and sustain our collective support system. This event is not just about education, it is about restoration, about bringing knowledge into our homes and joy back into our connections, as we gather not only to address the crisis, but to rebuild the circle of care that keeps us safe.

Who Will Be There?

We will be joined by all of our Cohort 4 doulas, who will be attending and presenting throughout the convention. They will share resources, community-centered action plans, and the real ways they are already creating impact for families. We are also honored to welcome our special guest speaker, Lacrecia Hill, who will speak on the power of grassroots organizations and what it means to build sustainable change from the ground up. You won’t want to miss these powerful speakers and presentations on April 4th from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

What You Need to Attend?

To attend the speaker presentations, all you need is a ticket. Each ticket is a $50 donation for anyone 18 years or older. Following the presentations, we will also host a Doula Brunch. If you have already purchased your $50 ticket, the brunch is included at no additional cost. If you would like to join the brunch without and not the speaker presentations, there is a $20 fee to participate. The brunch will take place from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Then, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, we will open our Community Market, where everyone is welcome, all are invited to come connect, explore, and be in community.
