About the event
Black Maternal Health Convention — Black Maternal Health Week 2026
Join us during Black Maternal Health Week 2026 for the Black Maternal Health Convention, a powerful gathering dedicated to advancing maternal health equity through education, economic empowerment, and community-rooted care.
Hosted by the Shades of Motherhood Network, this convention centers Black and Brown mothers, doulas, birth workers, and families while uplifting grassroots solutions to the maternal health crisis. Through workshops, dialogue, and collective action, we aim to educate communities, empower birth workers as essential professionals, and normalize culturally rooted, community-based care as a pathway to justice.
Throughout the convention, SOMN doulas will also present their individual passion projects, highlighting innovative, culturally rooted work happening right here in our community.
